The spiral-bound notebook was fabricated in the year 1924. The exclusive rights have been credited to Edward Podosek. MY GRANDFATHER JOHN HENRY ESP WORKED AS A TOOK MAKER FOR A COMPANY CALLED A.T. GREENS, IN HERSHAM SURREY. AROUND THE SAME PERIOD. I WAS TOLD BY MY FATHER THAT HE DESIGNED THE FIRST TOOL THAT MADE THE SPIRAL FOR THE NOTEBOOK. HOWEVER, BECAUSE HE WORKED FOR A COMPANY, THEY TOOK ALL THE CREDIT.
