Dr. Percy LeBaron Spencer invented the microwave oven. It took place some time in the forties, when Dr. Percy was making attempts to fabricate radar sets for the commercial electronics maker Raytheon. He detected that the chocolate candy placed right within his pocket melted owing to the microwaves, which were present in the region where he was performing his work. Afterward, he continued to conduct test and attempted to prepare popcorn. Then, he along with his companions tried to cook an egg that finally burst right in the face of one of them. Later, Dr. Percy and his group tried out on a metal box, which they fed with microwave power.
