In the year 1967, William A. Mitchell invented the whipped topping. At that time, he was working as a food chemist with General Foods Corporation. The product was launched by General Foods Cop’s Birds Eye segment during the same year and it easily turned popular among people. After some years, the section was amalgamated with Kraft Foods and the right to produce the product was shifted to the latter.
